I want to model again since I haven't in a while but I have no idea what to model. Not just little things either, I want to test myself and impress people on this forum. What do you guys think I should do?

Yea, I'm in the same boat. So far I'm stickin to things I have ready access to. Stuff on your desk, kitchen, etc.

basicaly my advice is go onto the gamemaker forums www.gamemaker.nl (http://www.gamemaker.nl)
and head to the graphics section there are litrally hundreds of people on there who couldnt model a box if there life depended on it and theye are always looking for 3d model makers
this way u get your stuff into games and u get credit also (if u dont want to make your models for other people then my sugestion is errrrr a pc case open with spinning fans etc no need to do the monitor just the tower (open) showing the mobo and other hardware (just a random idea :) lol my pc case is open

The person phix314 gave you a fantastic idea, just helping you a little more, try modelling things, with not putting more stress on detailing, like vase, simple computer table, utensils(like phix314 said), after getting warmed up with basic modelling try to make detailed furnitures and after that a nice looking interior of a room from any reference file taking from internet. This place you back on the track as you are before as you said.

Please feel free to criticise or ask again if u can't get the answer.

Good Luck!

It's not a lack of experience, I've been modeling for about 3 years, it's that I don't know what I should model. I'm not really that creative. Just looking for some ideas.

If your good at modeling you could model your self, perfect ref right there in front of a mirror or some pictures.

Dude I'm not quite as experienced as you, but I did a light bulb as detailed as I could, and there's an iron in my closet waiting for it's turn. Make a nice little scene or something :)

Please model something nobody else does. ie not an orc, big breasted babe, car etc, unless you take it to the next level.
eg Put an orc in a dress by all means.
Actually there you go... a cross-dressing orc... riding a trike made from a Vespa. A pink one.
Go!

a little suggestion, just my own experience: if I don't know what to model, I will try to watch the art works I collected from the web, the 'Showcase Gallery' in cgsociety.org is a good place to find such works. After I watched enough works, the idea of my new model may pop up suddenly from my brain after one or two days.

You may try it.
