View Full Version : Sound Effector with Xpresso
timtimtim 11-11-2007, 06:34 PM Hello People,
I use an sound effector in Xpresso to sync an character to some beat. it works fine in the preview mode but when i'm rendering the scene: the Xpresso didn't work at all (just like the Xpression is deactivated).
I tried different Xpresso priorities, but no change. The Cache-Tag to bake the Xpresso-Animation did also not work, since there is no Clone-Objekt just one Sound-Effector.
Thanks, tim

If all else fails, you could probably bake the animation of the objects as they are affected by the Xpresso setup.
That is, select the objects in question, go to the Timeline manager's Functions menu, and click "Bake object".

Make sure that the sound file itself is available and is linked to correctly in the Sound Effector. It has to either be available locally (i.e. in the same folder as the C4D file, or a child folder of the folder that the C4D scene file itself is in) if you have only given the actual file name, or you have to use an absolute file path (one containing the full location starting with the drive name and all folders down to the path). If it's still not working then you should post the scene here and I can take a look at it and see if it's a bug or some limitation (also just out of interest, which version of C4D are you using?).

thanks guys!
i forgot to say that the animation object is a poser figure imported via interPoser pro v1.66. and i try to link some beat to the arms and legs. but this poser object isn't a normal c4d object and probalby the plugin works different in preview mode and rendering (but still strange).
@ JamesMK: yeah, i tried this, but it's a so big scene that c4d or the plugin crashes. but i will try to get all the beat data into an null-object -> bake this object -> rendering
@ Per-Anders: i did it allready this way, same folder to avoid this problems and for net rendering. i use r10.5 and interPoser Pro 1.66. thanks for your offer to take a look at the scenefile but it's about 200 mb...
it's really strange that i can render the whole scene prefectly with the preview renderer mode: "full render", which works as workaround fine (just no alpha, and every output file is named preview.mov etc....) but not with the normal render.
any suggestions?
best, tim

finally, it comes out that the version of the InterPoser Pro plugin was not the right one for my version of c4d. now everthing is fine.
thanks for help!
