View Full Version : Headus Uv Layout

I have a question about headus. You import the obj file, arrange the uvs, then export the obj with updated uv layout? Does this update the model in maya, or do you have to re-import the object into your scene? Will the blendshapes I've created be obsolete once I go through the headus pipeline?

Well I've barely used headus, just tried it out a couple of times but I think the answer to your questions are yes and yes.

You have to re-import the unwrapped model and setup the blendshapes again because they will refer to the old model. Perhaps there is some quick way to replace the model for blendshapes I dont know, you could try asking in maya rigging forum, but i would suspect you have to make them again.

Can't you transfer your uvs from one mesh to another in recent versions of maya. I don't have maya here at work but I'm sure it's possible these days. Hopefully someone else can be more specific.
