how to mirror duplicate curves on live nurbs surfaces

here is a snapshot for instance
there is a nurbs sphere with <make live>
and curve (right eyewith angry looks like) I put on this live sphere.
but
tried to duplicate with mirror (as foot duplicate with mirror style)
by adjusting one axis to -1
but never worked
everytime a normal duplicated eye (the selected one. that I wantto try for make left eye)
and opinion ?

make the object live, make your curve on it.
duplicate the curve with "duplicate" or "offset curve".
mirror the curve as you like
delete the live-curve
go to the front view and project both curves on the sphere.

Canīt try it now, so iīm not sure if it works fine.
