Title: Phoenix
Name: Alex Dima
Country: Romania
Software: Photoshop
Hello! This is my own version of a Phoenix bird. Swan-like body and neck..but with huge wings and a beautiful tail. Fire is represented by the bird's colors instead of wings made of fire.
I had a real problem with the overall mood of the pic... this is why i adjusted the colors with a lot of blue so the initial orange/yellow tone wouldn't hurt our eyes. And it alsoo looked too childish.
Sketch was drawn on A4 paper.. and painted over in Photoshop CS2. it took some hours though
Oh... and this is for one special girl named Nico.. kisses, baby!
Hope you like it....be gentle with the critics.. hehe! I know it's crap.. Bye bye!

This is not crap! It's beautiful with a great scheme of colors and lighting, as well as imagination. :) Keep up the good work, and work on keeping your spirits up too. :)

Thx a lot! actually every comment i receive gets my spirit up. I usually check out the portfolio of each person that comments and i feel really good knowing that a serious artist like yourself appreciates my work.

Hey.The phoenix bird is magnificent.great work!
Hi Anarki3000.
I was going trough 2d gallery, and usually I dont have much time at my hand to post crits
or comments, unless if I really love the work I see.
I like your bird, but your comment on your own work is what got my attention even more than work itself.
Id criticise your words, and I quote ; " Oh... and this is for one special girl named Nico.. kisses, baby!
Hope you like it....be gentle with the critics.. hehe! I know it's crap.. Bye bye! "
You intended this piece for special girl, but you know it's crap, as you said it.
When I wanna give something to my better half, I want everything for that person but crap, that is the last thing Id give to someone I care for.
Anyway, your bird is good, but you need to appreciate your work bit more then you do now, and stop giving crap to ones you like.

"Someone i care about.." you could say that.. She's just someone special to me. What i meant was that at CGSociety level.. i consider my work somehow mediocre.. "crap" was just a joke... There is much more to do to reach that 4 star level. If I were honest to myself.. this pic is worth 3 stars .. not more or less..
I always try to push myself.. so, usually my last work is the best of all... So, when i start a new one.. i try to imagine the last one as "crap" so i get motivated and draw at least 2 times better
