I imported the eps into Maya and applied a barbed wire paintfx to the curves. The paper effect was done in photoshop using the texturiser filter (click on the image to better see the detail).

I like the image.

But this is not impossible to do in the real world, just painful... :eek:

This is true, but then I saw the Spoonflower image on the inspirations link for the competition which makes me wonder....?:
