Hi, Everybody. Thank you for seeing my thread!
The image hosted in China, absolutely NO SARS virus infected, pls feel free to download.
(done by Max and Photoshop)

This Revolver is the pistol for my female character called
Shady (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=26732)

I've long been fascinated by the ancient Japanese style & Buddhist ceremonies so I always fuses these fantasies in creating 3d image.
Story: "The Fury of Kiyohime " is a tragic love story from Japan. Kiyohime was lovesicking with a monk called Antin, she went mad & became a huge Evil Snake. She can blow fire and finally burn Antin & herself to death........!!!

I've found a JapWebpage illustrating this story.
http://www8.ocn.ne.jp/~takaiti/antinkiyohime.html
Kiyohime is cruel so I think it's plain cool for the Revolver to be possessed by her evil spirit....

All suggestion will be welcome.

maybe just a liitle bit too shiny, looks unnatural. Great job texturing it, I'd like to know how you textured the grip. I have a revolver in the works too, but I'm having trouble texturing it. (see http://www.adyus.net/wip.html for a screenshot of my model - before modding it, of course :) Mine will have laser sighting too ;P)

Thanks iBlue, Vash T Stampede & adyus.
The texture on the grip is not complex, if you can get the real one, then just scan it. Some toy gun is quite good... (eg. Tanaka from Japan).
I get none of the above, just some reference photos. It's the leather skin and the circular bump added in Photoshop.:scream:

Thanks.

awesome job...i really like the style of it...i actually like the fact that it isnt perfectly realistic...i really like that painting texture on the revolver...is it modeled after an actual gun or completely your creation (dont know much about guns)

Thank you for all reply!
Tikisan, I base on the real revolver to model, M29 213mm barrel. Please visit the site below if you're interested...

http://www.smith-wesson.com

M29 is out of production for many years, you can find the same model as M629, that is made in stainless metal...:wip:

Thats a very nice model. I like the concept.

One thing that bothers me though. On the 3rd picture, on the bullets box, whats with the hook-cross symbol? Is that how it supposed to be? Kinda disturbing.

Gun looks great, I'm always a sucker for japanese influenced art.

ToastMan: the hook-cross symbol that bother you is tatto symbol and the word inside comes from......
TIBET Buddhism.....the so called.....the Great Sun Buddha (really don't know how to translate) the most important Buddhist God in TIBET with strongest power, as you see His Face on trademark.......:surprised

It is wonderful.
The usage of "Kanji" &"Bonji" is appropriate and cool even if it sees from the Japanese.

Very strong work conceptually, and a well realized product. I'd like to see a model of the character who belongs to this gun.

*and if it matters, I'm half japanese, raised in the U.S. I'd put something in Japanese here, but I only bathroom words, and I don't think that anyone of them are really appropriate here.

Thanks chk,
to make the gun cooler, I just want to find some evil & stylish spirit...(something like the summoned guardian in TV GAME):p

pls don't trace too much on the story....just for fun only.:D

cool.

I would like to thank you for personally sending me the pictures when they were down.

dammm. very well done. the colors on it give it a nice touch and the bumps on the grip are really cool. sorry if I sound weird but they look neat and add to the realism. my only crit is directed towards the bullets. nice modeling. and I like the red thingy on the back of each bullet. but the materials are poorly built. sorry but that is what I think. it takes away from the guns soul. but without the bullets one could say the same thing. if you fixed that so the bullets would look reailistic. I mean real real real realiscic like, then your render would look so much better and complement the guns coolness.
