Just thought I'd post something now that I'm starting to show some promise...
Rendered in Mental Ray 2 via XSI 3.0...
Still needs a lot of detail, not to mention arms and legs and then the old texture treatment but I'm only a few hours in on this one... let me know what you think guys.

Just as cool as a character you'd find in Mortal-Kombat. Great work.
As far as work flow goes, did you free-hand it, or use a ref image?
And the rendering, is that done with the Full version of XSI or the "Experience" learning edition?

not bad at all...although i would strongly recommend giving it some kind of personality features....or some kind of charatistices that make him identifiable from a distance. These kind of things can make a low detailed or simple mesh have a lot more style.

neg9 - I noticed after the render the resemblance to a certain icy MK character...it's a free hand and XSI Academic Essentials ($495)
2byts - I agree totally, I intend to add quite a bit of detail and "some" individuality once it's farther along, but my intent is to do several instances for a short down the road and I need them to to have a certain stormtrooper effect, you know a monotonous elite task force...
