Hi there,

a friend of mine is modelling a car at the moment and we decided that I should make an animation for a little show-off of the car. As you can guess from the pictures the car will be no brand-new glimmering car... Anyways, this is what I have so far. I´m running out of ideas right now and could use a few suggestions. There will be windows at the walls with the fire stairs as thiese stairs would be useless without them. As you see some parts aren´t textured yet, some things are still a bit rough or at least the textures aren´t completely what I want (fire escape stairs f.i.).

Little update: modelled the windows for the fire stairs and changed the texture of the stairs.

Interesting design. What kind of car will you be displaying?

Also - I was just thinking this would make for a very nice night scene as well with the walkways and bars adding a dark tone to it all.

It´s a DMC DeLorean. I plan on retexturing it once it is finished to make it look as crap as this backyard here. You know, rust, a few dents... All that stuff that is seen on an old unloved car ;) (Yes, I know, DeLoreans don´t rust... :D )

I just had an idea for a very short short-animation about something darker using character animation with this set. Those damn matrix-trailer don´t get out of my head, hehe. We´ll see, the car animation is first, =)

Wow that looks great ! i'd be also very interested in the car, cos i'm making one too :) ... keep it up !
by the way, won't you make me an env. as well, i'm rendering on planes...? :cool:

Hi there. I´m the guy modelling the car.
Needed, I saw your DeLorean in the WIP-section and now I am very depressed, canceled modelling the car and deleted all the files. I nearly threw my comp out of the window :shrug: ;) :p (just kidding, of course *g*).
I just wonder why so many people start modelling the car just when I do :P. "Must be the Back To The Future" DVDs. By the way, I heard rumors about deleted scenes in the US-version? Someone meant they deleted all the terrorist-related parts. Something on it?

And the front (mmh, need a different coloured background :p). Vertices in the center aren´t welded in this image. Doors can be opened when the car is finished. Currently working on the roof and front window, the nose comes next.
