(http://assets.cgsociety.org/nvart/1194517620)Hmm...what can I say about this? It's an image that's been in my head for a few years but I haven't had the time, reason or ability to pull it off until now.

There's a meaning behind it & the name should give a clue but I strongly believe that art should be free to interpretation so I won't elaborate any further.

Software used: Lightwave, photoshop & an hour with realflow to get the blobs/shards.

Thank you for the kind words.

jdheeter, you wouldn't believe how many layers I had in Photoshop of different render passes & various painted elements. Eventually I found the most appealing image by keeping things subtle. The original image involved thick acrid smoke & raging fire pouring from the back of the figure but it seemed too overwhelming & messy...as an animation it would have worked but as a still image it was too much. There's something about the smouldering embers that I really liked, almost like a close-up of a cigarette.

Yp! I lost this one!
Great work, poetic and effective. Interesting by a technical point of view, too. I like the lights in the mouth, nose, and ears.
Bravo!
