Well, it obvious i think. since you have ref pics and are duplicating them, you can tell the differences yourself. The higlights are to sharp on yours, the buttons on the left also have a bigger gap between them and the case. Looks like the model is alsmot perfect though (besides that litle thing with the buttons)

Lol this is funny.
I agree with Aros except from the largest one, I think the sharper one is CG.
Just take a look at their kb size. The smaller one is always the photo ;)
Anyway, great work!

I think the fake is the crisper one... Although it seemed legit at first glance, the LCD display is a givaway. Pretty unlikely that's a real display. (See bottom image) ... Otherwise, well done!

hey! wait a sec that last one is cg and photo, the perspective is screwed up on the LCD, which leads me to believe that it is a cg model, but you didnt model theLCD, so you just airbrushed it in!!!
oh oops, nevermind, i see, why are all the models slightly different? who does that? laaaame

and your point was?

... o.k. from the curvature of the "lift up" finger nook, I believe that I was correct in my choice. But, not certain... and it's very odd to me that the LCD display you are showing us does not appear on ANY of the images - - Plus, this new LCD display looks good, whereas the one in the crisper image (with the less vibrantly orange buttons) looks like someone penciled it in. It looks like crap.
So, I'm still confused about how all these elements piece together. Also, I'm curious to know what clues make it obvious to you. I think they both have believable and unbelievable qualities.

This was supose to be fun but it turns into a diferent way
Firts I model the whole thing as I said some think that I just paint some parts over the model (the LCD Display) and that beacouse of the weird perspective but is not weird
ok here are the parts and there a little drawing of how the basic shape of the walkman is round but the display is plane so that makes a big hole in one part of the structure and in the other part it is the oposite
http://www.bandaelrecodo.com.mx/images/Shapes01.jpg
The gray part is the basic shape, Blue is the transparent plastic and the black part is the LCD and finally the pink parts are the "bevel" and hole
http://www.bandaelrecodo.com.mx/images/Shapes02.jpg
After this I will post all the renders as I should in the first place
Oh and the display I post is diferent 'cuz I dint want that you can see the numbers displaying in the images so you easilly can find out wich is real and wich is not

It's a very nice model, and cool that you built enough to be able to 'explode' it like that. Nice work.
I think you're missing a lip shape running around the black part at the top, and perhaps a couple other little manufacturing things here and there. Also in the photos it seems like the control stick on top sticks out a little more..the buttons could be slightly less 'tight' in their openings..things like that. And definitely need to work on some of the surfaces.
I think you would have been better off just posting "here's a nice model" than making it a challenge, that always gets people's hackles up. Also it appears that every photo is of a different production model of the unit, based on the face lettering etc. so that really adds more confusion.
Anyway, look forward to the 'normal' presentation and more pics :)

So... Who won, anyway? Are there prizes?

Yeah, the fact that they all have different lettering on them makes it hard to tell which is which from one to the next. But great job! I'm still not sure on all of them. :p

WOW AMAZING MODELING. THE THING THAT CATCHES MY EYE IS THE LCD PLASTIC COVER IS ANGELED IN ON ONE SIDE ON THE REF PIC JUST A TAD. THAT WAS THE ONLY REAL DIFFERENCE I SAW BESIDES THE SHININESS BEING OFF ON THE TWO.
