View Full Version : Pencil Sketch - Dry Well
04-13-2003, 01:22 AM
It's been awhile since I've posted any kind of drawing, so I thought I'd start again. This is pencil on printer paper, scanned in greyscale with level adjustment in Photoshop. I haven't decided if I will color it yet but I'm looking for any honest crits.
Thanks in advance!

Honestly, its pretty sweet. I like the textures and the pose alot. Including the facial expression, it gives a lot of personality. good job.
The only crit form me is the fingers and thumbs look a little short. The one's wrapped around the pole are okay but his relaxed hand looks small, especially for someone so tall and lean. And on his left hand the outline of the fingers is running a tangent with the outline on his heel. But that problem would disappear if you make those fingers a bit longer.
Overall, really nice job. I had to look hard to find something that didn't seem quite right on it.

Hey! Thanks! Those fingers were supposed to look like they were folded...I guess I didn't pull that off very well. I'll see about fixing them. Thanks alot for the honest reply!

Wow! I dig your style! Maybe he'd look a bit cooler with a straw sticking out of his mouth, if you know what i mean :p
Very nice dude! :)

Thanks! Sure, go on and color it! I got held up with some modeling, so I won't have time to do it for a little while. I think adding a straw in his mouth would be great. I'll have to do that when I get the chance...

Well, i havent gopt enough time to work with it, but i will show you my current progress =)
As for now i think im done with the body (well, unless i wwant to change the tone of some eycandy stuff), and i started the... pit i think. I have just put some to another highlight, i have yet to put the shade levels and clearer highlights. I think the grass will be hard =P. I hope you like it :)

Really nice drawing man!!
I particularly like the use of line and the classical pose.
Works really well as a black and white line drawing.
