It is an ancient Chinese story. Long time ago, there was an innate strong man named Zhou Chu, who lost his parents when he was still a child. Without family education, he became a local tyrant when he grew up, and was labeled as one of the three evils as well as the tiger and dragon there. However, with the help of a friend of his father's, he turned over a new leaf, killed the tiger and dragon for the local people, and studied hard to be a general at last.
In this painting I use the way of Beijing opera to describe this story. It really takes me a lot of time to complete a background as well as have a taste of the art of Chinese monochrome. It's always exciting to learn and have a try.

Amazing picture with impressive detials! Mixing the stile of the traditional chinise paintings with your own stile is chill!

I love your background, it's a shame so much is covered up, but then, the resulting composition is fabulous. Your detailing is amazing. I only have some crits about the anatomy of the tiger, the lower neck, chest area looks wrong, the elbows are too low and the rear end is too square. (I think it's still a very good looking tiger). I would expect more highlights on the hat as well to match the lighting on the face and the beard.
I don't know much about traditinal Beijing opera storytelling but I wish I did looking at this.
