View Full Version : Why would you upgrade to 3.5?

1->1.5 and 1.5->2 of XSI had substantial immediately recognizable advancements. Some felt 3.0 did not warrant a full version update.

4.5 Maya gave some concern that it did not introduce enough new but 5.0 seesm to have added what could be considered as fullfilling an upgrade.

I don't really see anything I must have yet except 'Automatic symmetrizing' and 'New symmetrized polygons' which I would have preffered was accomplished with a proper procedural copyOP anyway, and 'Mixer actions for multiple constraints' answering a long time need. Perhasp after Ed releases a review I'll see some more must have things.

Looking at the available new feature html and pdf list of XIS 3.5, do you feel it fullfills a .5 version update and is there something nessessasry for you to upgrade to?

even if its just 3.5, i guess software version matters


some of the comparisons of XSI3.5 to maya 5s release were that it had vector output but it looks like its just the same implementaion as XSI had with Swift plugin in ver2 bu twith new ravix engine:
