Hello,

Is it possible, through the scripting interface, to convert a reference object (VOT_Reference) into something exportable to OBJ like Mesh, MeshObject, etc?

Somehow methods like ToMesh(), ToMeshObject(), ToSubdivMesh() and ToBakedSubdivMesh() miserably fail, they always return None.

I don't know, but it's a good question. You might try asking it over in the Python forum at Cornucopia3D.
