Hi every one! Here i'm posting progress of my new project. Personally I'm really don't like how it looks then somebody bind armor parts like shoulder guard and armor skirt directly to character limbs (you can see it a lot around, even in some BIG titles like TES IV Oblivion for instance, but where always some reasone and i'm not blaiming gays who did it), so I decide to make complex samurai armor setup and show it in action. It's very begining, a "first step" , just couple of evening spend and it makes me feel unsatisfied about timing and dinamics, but it's enouth to display the idea.

Hi Stare,

I like your snapshots, but I'm a little confused about the video link you've given; it seems to be live action footage of a man in a gym (?) practicing samurai moves. Maybe this is a reference for your animation? I'd like to see the animation itself, so I hope you'll post it soon...

also fogot to mention that animation filmed on half speed - it's too short and too fast rifht now, so it's the only way to notice action(at least secondary animations) :hmm:

Hey cool! Poses are great, but your timing needs a lil tweaking. In the beginning, it looks like hes creeping up, or just going slowly (not bad, just wondering if you meant for this). Usually pulling out the sword and slicing is in the same quick move. If you wanted him to stand first and then anticipate (like it is now) then all that really needs changing is the speed of the slash. Make that WAY faster :D and it's just about finished. Good job!

I agree with mistasam02. Expecially with swoosh at the end. way faster.
Also I think the balls of the feet can be more extreem especially his left foot as he stands up. Show the ball bend as he takes on the weight of his body. Almost like you just need to do a pass where you go through and work on the feet in gerneral. I like it and think you just need a few things and it can really shine.

Got an Update!
(replaced link at thread start)

New action added, also reworked timings (finaly make it one smooth continius action), unfortunately for some strange occasion move end's a bit erley - have no idea why it happen on YouTube, uploaded sequence is ok, but I leav it as is till next update.

my main crit is with the first slash after he removes sword from holder. It seems to move upward slightly before slicing. The sword slice would come smoothly from the holder and into the slice. At present it seems to almost wander off backwards just after it comes out the holder. Frame by frame it you'll see what I mean.
definitely push that bodyweight pose prior to the slice too. Lean him into it a bit more.

2nd bit needs a bit more weight adding - I wont crit on this just yet as I'm sure your gonna rework bits of it.
