Title: Grave Golem
Name: Leon Harmon
Country: USA
Software: 3ds max, Deep Paint, Photoshop

This was my entry for the Blizzard Art Contest last year. I t was going to be entered as a Diablo character but looked more like a Warcraft character as I asked around. I used 3ds max to model and Deep Paint and Photoshop to texture. The poly count ended at 4998 with 1-1024x 1024 diffuse and 1-512x512 alpha.

General Idea is nice, love the idea of that big gollem carrying a graveyard! And the little skeletons looks great, are they clip map or polygonal?
Nice work indeed!
(Maybe that the luminous yellow cracks could have been brighter?)

very cool concept, solid execution. the skeletons are indeed great. if anything i would work on the root of the tree of his right leg, as it seems especially polygonal there. but again, great work.

Nice one, Leon. The stylized look for this thing really ties it together.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Wowbaggin good eye, the tree leg was one of the more difficult portions for me. I wanted the leg originally to look more like an oak tree with different branches and leaves but with the poly count and deformations I had to hinder the idea and in so hindered the leg itself. Mucus the skeletons are actual geometry and the yellow cracks i want to redo entirely with baked lights this time. BrimofObscurity thanks, I had this one more like the stylized pieces that I do, this one was supposed to be more realistic, not real but more realistic than cartoony. I cant wait to do more now! Next up are some super soldiers.
