What do you guys think, are they getting used, are they just aking up space? I'm finding that even though we have four great general threads, one for tutorials, one for shaders, One for plugins, and one for tips and tricks, it seems even looking down two or three threads, that people aren't using them. I'm starting to think they pnly people who are really using them are the ones who dont' need it as much, basically the ones who attaend frequently and know a fair bit already, while noobs and less experienced users just post away without checking. Are they worth the space they take up? I think they serve as a great resource and a much easier way to find things, though I still don't get why people do searches either. Lots of users repeating them selves it seems.

I guess this is sort of a rant, but I'm curious to see what others think?

being as how i wanted a material sticky i ain't complaining.
i am very impressed by everyones participation in adding to these stickies...plugins and materials...so good efforts to all.
thank you.

i do feel tips and tricks could do with a renewed boost/effort....i used to use it all the time...but its been an age since it was updated...and once R8 was released we got loads of tips n tricks...why can't this effort be continued? come on guyz n gurlz...post those tips tricks...

i also don't think they take up to much space...i think we have the balance right..

good work...

Just jumping in to C4D, and I'm finding the stickies very useful as a way to hook into the resources that are out there.

Tips and Tricks could maybe do with a bit of housecleaning--seems to mostly be discussions between beta testers of V8/Earlybird.

thanks for all you efforts.

Even though i post in the stickies when possible, i find myself going back and looking whenever its updated. Perhaps there is a tutorial i have missed...or some obscure plugin/shader thats not so popluar...i think they are a great resource. Even though i agree with you, there are people that post...but perhaps they have looked through that stuff, and are seeking a more interactive explanation? maybe their question isnt answered in those tut sites?

Just a thought.

I find them very useful, and a godsend whenever I lost something I the chaos I create all around me. So please: let them stay on top. A big, and well meant "thanks" to all the posters who share their resources and knowledge!

I like the stickies. How about having 3 or 4 sub-categories of tips/tricks? like, modeling, lighting/rendering, animation, scene creation, effect/xpresso

Just throwing out ideas http://www.cgtalk.com/newreply.php?s=&action=newreply&threadid=55681#
