I have an idea for an eye set up. Kinda new to all this so bare with me.

Basically instead of using a sphere for an eyeBall i'm going to fake it by sliding a piece of geometry over another one . . . well that's the idea i had.

I'd like to use a geometry constraint to have the pupil stick to the surface when it needs to look somewhere else.

I'd like to use an aim constraint on the pupil so that it aims to the normals of the surface it's geometry constrained to.

Would I use the sampler info node for this you think?

How do I tell the pupil to aim at the normals direction of another surface?

ok I think I got it.

Used expressions instead.

You had the right idea the first time, thinking about using the normals. because you can use the normal constraint, along with the geometry constraint to make an object slide across another object.

But if your expression worked, all the power to you!

I didn't know there was a normals contraint! Haha. That's works much better.

But I'm not that happy with the geometry contraint now.

Osipa mentioned the idea of using UV animating to get the pupil sliding over the geometry. Have you ever tried this before?

Would I animate the 2d placement?

Sounds interesting. We could add a displacement as well to give it a bump.
