View Full Version : Rain of petals
MihaiPocorschi 10-31-2007, 07:35 PM I'm going about doing a realistic petal animation like in American Beauty ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okaWTEnU4j0 ) Anybody have any idea what forces should I apply in order to get that swaying from side to side? Any ideas (or sample flows) would be greatly appreciated :)
Cheers

I've done the same effect aswell.
2 Wind spacewarp worked fine for me. I had 1 wind operator from the bottom with a turbulence of 1.0 and no strength. The frequency whas something like 5.0 i believe. and a scale that matches the scene.
The second wind was from the side with similair settings only a bit more turbulence. In addition i've put a noise controller on the strength from -1 to 1 to vary the directions.
Try playing with this and use a spacefollow rotation, it works great.

Yup.... finally locked it down. Only about 5 winds, drags and animated influence/strength :)
