Hi there!
I'm looking for a way to use a low rez object to deform a high-rez one. I need to make a t-shirt floating in water and i don't want to simulate the t-shirt because i think that will be very hard to setup and time consuming to simulate so i thought to make a grid for the simulation and then the t-shirt will be deformed by the grid.
I've tried using cage deform but with no luck. I remember that a long time ago when i was using 3dsmax there was a modifier called skin-wrap if i remember correctly that does just that.
Is there something similar in xsi?
Thanks!

yes there is and u can actually use it to drive the highres realtime.
cage deform is what u need to use, works by the same principles of wrap deform in maya and
skin wrap in max. shrink wrap is something totally different, and does not drive one objects defomation with another, it just projects ones objects vertices over the other (good for skin sliding, muscle systems and morphing effects). bare in mind to get results with cage deform u need to follow certain rules. one that i recall right now is to keep the active center of the object on, never delete that as it screws ur deforms.
lucky for u i got a scene laying around , that i slapped together for someone that asked the same question as u did right n this section of the forum a couple of weeks ago.
tzio fac cadou :)
look around in it and ull get it.
for anyone else interested here it is:
