Hi there, has anyone seen the character animation video series
by Jeff Lew that can recommend it? The video samples look good on the
website but would be interested in seeing if anyone here found it useful.

Thanks.

It is a solid tutorial aimed at beginners. And if you have come in contact with more advanced stuff before, then you should certainly watch the DVD. Many advanced books/ dvd/ tutorials have a lot of fundemental mistakes, and if you didn't know better, you'll take ithose for granted. Jeff's DVD lays a solid foundation.

It's great -- and from a non-traditional animator's point of view. It is definitely worth it.

EDIT: though apparently he spereated the different parts into different dvds. i think i got mine just over a year ago (maybe?).

Thanks for sharing guys. I'm glad that I stumbled across his website and will have to come back here for more
suggestions on animation training after I finish watching those dvd's.

In that case you should further look to what people of the industry has to offer. There is of course animation mentor, Daniel Lara's Pepeland but most I would recommend www.keithlango.com

Keith Lango was/ is a Blue Sky and Disney animator. On his web site there is a payed service. You can buy chapters of animation training. But there is a lot of free content (of the same quality as the commercial stuff) too that you sink your teeth right into. Very advanced stuff, explained in plain language and with very good examples.

I am going to check out that link in depth as soon as I can--it looks like a great resource and thanks for the mention Toontje. Just finished ordering the Lew videos and will try to sit still for the next two weeks while I wait for them to come...in the meantime, it looks like it will just be quality time mainly with my Max user guide!
