I want to start an little project where an egg hatch but now I have run into trouble.
They way I have gone about it was to model each part of the cracked egg and the align them perfectly and then animate the hatching but I get lines where the seams are between different pieces no matter how good they are aligned. This happens when I use polygons. I have been trying to work around this but I can't seem solve it, so anyone know a good way to have a object that appears whole then cracks open slowly in a controlled manner?
Polygon line:

I manage to come some way in one possible solution but I hit a bump on that aswell.
I took a Nurbs and converted that to SubD then to Poly and voila no line.

Thing is that I used the trim-tool later to cut up the egg in pieces but the trims dont follow when I convert to SubD but reverts back to the untrimmed object. So is there a way to convert a trimmed NURBS to SubD?
Any help would be great. BTW pics are examples nothing more.
