Title: Hybrid (Polaris)
Name: Geoffroy Thoorens
Country: France
Software: Photoshop

This is a character design done for a french rpg called Polaris. Earth is destroyed, humans are living under water. This hybrid is the result of genetic experiments. I used Photoshop. Hope you like it.

Nice image! I like the sense of movement and energy expressed in the creature's pose and the water droplets. Great execution on the water itself, probably the most impressive part of the image. The creature has really nice form, and your lighting is great. I really like the gritty feel of the whole piece. Excellent work!

WOw! many thanks :) !
about the water, it's simply a radial blur on a spray and a drop brush. I will post next month a new section on my website to show how I make my brushes
Thanks again friends !

very dynamic picture. Looks like it's not just a frozen moment, but a part of the whole action itself. The sense of movement in the splash and water are amazing.

That rocks! You rock! :buttrock:
It's kinda remind me the illustrations of the late '80s dark sci-fi novells. The worlds where some creepy beast's kept in a 'labitinth' half-full of water - and if you were a bad boy, you'd go there and fight with that little dogy. I like it! :)
The stile you used is very dynamic. The radial blur works and keep the whole picture vivid! I love the lightning, too! Keep it up!

Very nice illustration! Good motion! My only crit is the water, it looks like he's jumping in and creating a splash of water, but the splash looks like only small droplets of water coming at us. Where is the bigger part of the splash that should be immediately around his feet where they entered the water? Other than that, it looks great!

I guess the creature's lashing makes the splash as he or she (: trashing about in the water. He/she's flaped the surface of the water so there are some approaching droplets in the air. And there are some from his/her wet skin, as he or she is spinning around.

In my opinion the pose is genial, cuz' the beholder donno if the creature is dangerous and it's gonna eat your brain off or it's simply a miserable chappy who frightened of the photoshooting and splash the water to make the photographer to stop the flashing. imho.
