For those of you unaware of it the site www.sxc.hu is a wonderful texture.reference site. They have a huge selection of sorted, high resolution (average 2000x3000) images as well as an input of 1-300 new images a day that are unsorted. The download quota is 100 images per day. It's all free. Definately the best and biggest ref site I have encountered to date.

becareful though, as some images require permission from the owner before use in public / commercial projects.
