Now that the competition has been extended by two more weeks, I'm going to jump in last minute and try to make it in.
My intention is to develop strange behaviour through expression rather than performance.
The idea of a hillbilly protraying a truly odd expression immediately came to mind.

Wow Richard, nice to see you participating! :) You're such an inspiring artist! The expression... does look weird indeed, so I'm looking forward for your further execution. :thumbsup:

Hey, thanks Gijs;
I will be posting my final tonight and I'm curious to see what people think. I'm rushing to finish it, especially being away from home at the moment, but well... everyone's rushing... ;)

This is my final submission.
Hopefully, my idea to capture strange behaviour through expression rather than performance came through...
I will post a background story soon when I have another spare moment, as well as a higher resolution image.
Character was created with ZBrush 3.1, rendered with VRay 1.5 RC3 and composited / color corrected with Photoshop. The depth of field was produced with my own DOF PRO (http://www.dofpro.com/) plugin. Clothing is a photo composite.
Comments are always welcome.
