How would I go about after lets say dispersion, replacing or finding in the object
so switch out the particles?

Hum..your post isnt very clear. I'm guessing you want to make the particles disapear?
There would be plenty of ways. You could kill the particles by sending them to a new event with a Delete op. You can use a Particle Age material on the transparency channel, and get your particles to fade over time. Also you could use the scale op to scale down your part over time..It all depends of what you want to achieve.

Sure
when you disintergrate an object it turns into particles
Now when I reform my particles into another object, the particles hold the shape of that object but not the texture/or geometry (surface, things like that) just the outline
how would fade out the particles and fade in the second object or have the particles turn into the second item completely, with all the properties
Thank you very much.

depending on the material on the Target object. But I would sugest using PFlowTool Box 1, and use the mapping operator, where u can pick an object mapping and asign it to your particles. altho if your target object has only a simple color, then just have to make sure u use a material op with the same material u using to map your object, on the event when the particles "land" on your obj.

sorry, dunno if it makes a lot of sense.

well
basically I would like to reform into the object or another object.
So it looks like that object

a blue cube
disperses into particles
back into a blue cube

Something like this? File attached...

Max9 and you'll need Particle Flow Tools Freebies (http://www.orbaz.com/download/) Stop Operator

not quite

mroe like this but in reverse

http://www.the3dstudio.com/product_details.aspx?id_product=2600

unless that was like this
but i could not render that

basically they guys are doing it

http://www.simplycg.net/viewtopic.php?t=1493

but i dont understand what they did

The scene I posted does exactly what you were asking for. Well the colors change but that is simple enough to adjust.

a blue cube
disperses into particles
back into a blue cube

The renderer may be set to Krakatoa, this was a super simple test scene I made during the demo period, just change it to scanline or whatever you want to render with.

The simplest way would be to follow the tutorial you just posted and the reverse the frames in video post or a compositing program.

ill look into that

im using vray and its taking a long time to render

anyway
basically
when reforming
i would like to see the texture

Somebody pointed out this exact discussion last time this topic came around.

I start by saying it right of the bat. There is no easy way to get your particles (fractured pieces) like those to reassemble in the same location they originated from. If you watch Tyson's example when they peices reassemble they are making up a smooth object that they originally where.

is there a plugin that does this

i mean my object is plane
a bitmap plane a simple picture

and my thought is that the object would not be in the same place
this is my idea

blue cube
disperse
reforms into a red sphere in a different area
i really would like the texture to show up thats all in the reformed object

so my basic question is

How do i get the texture to appear on an object using particles?

Mapping Object Operator in Orbaz ToolBox#1, does exacly that.

step by step?
thank you.

dude I'm confused. can you explain what you really want to do. First you mention a Plane with a bitmap picture, then you say that it goes from blue cube into a red sphere..so wheres the plane with the bitmap texture?

well this is what i would like to achieve

and specifically at the bottom

thank you.

I did but still cannot follow the bottom

Sorry but what do you mean by that?.. that you don't understand the process?

swaneon

yes
I have a flag

swaneon
11-06-2007, 03:36 AM
here is my sample max scene

When the particles from the sphere turn into the flag I would like if possible the particles to form at the bottom and go up and the texture/geometry to appear.

Thank you.
