Title: 'Western Scene'
Name: Bruno Werneck
Country: USA
Software: Painter, Photoshop

This is my first cover art created for a comic book, to be released sometime this year or next.

This piece was created in Painter and Potoshop and I can't remember how long it took. Photo textures were used in the background and for appendages on characters. Character is fully painted, mostly using Painter.

I had to ask friends to pose for me in order to get more accurate lighting and shadows and to help witht the anatomy. It was really fun to do and a bit challenging at times, since it was my first.

But I'm glad to say it generated more work in comics. A field I've passioante aout since I was little. So I'll post more whenever I get permission.

cheers
Bruno

Really surpised there aren't more comments on this - quality work, Bruno. You nailed the stylised look, washed-out, grimy, hot - it reminds me strongly of the Dark Tower books, and I mean that as a serious compliment.

Great stuff man! Not sure about that gun, but love the bold, grungy style. Let us know how that comic turns out.

Bruno,

WOW! :applause:

The strong action you created, reminds me of the adventure (pulp fiction) magazine covers from the 1960s.

I know that I am asking a long time after your intial post but I just saw it today for the first time. If you have a minute or two could you answer a few questions?

What was your inspiration for this?

How did you pick your colors?

What style of brushes did you use?

How did you blend your colors?

Thanks in advance. This is a very inspirational piece for me to learn more.

Todd
