View Full Version : opacity vs transparency
mister3d 10-27-2007, 03:31 PM What is the point of opacity? I always use transparency, and it seems that opacity does the same but from another end.

Opacity is just the opposite of transperency. If something is 100% opaque, then it's 0% transperent. If it's 75% transoarent, then it's 25% opaque. Different materials and render engines just prefer using one term over the other, it's exactly the same concept.

Ok, thank you. At least I will know there's nothing bizzare with these terms.
