Well, I always see people modeling pins for fun. I thought I would try something different. So, I modeled a PC100 Zip disk. I then did some exporting, importing, exporting, importing, exporting, and importing to get the look you see. To better understand, click the link below and read my comments below the zip disk picture.

But if I may say something.. You should ajust the light. The red is to intens!!

Good work so far, but if you want to achieve photorealism youll have to bevel the edges of your model.

All objects in real world have a certain degree of bevel in its edges that will reflect light, even the sharper ones.

You might hardly noteice them, but your brain will know the difference.

That's why you sometimes look at a CG pic (even an execelent modelled and textured one) and will say for sure: this is CG and not a real picture, even though you can't expalin what's wrong.

That and the imperfections on the surfaces (among others). Nothing in real world is THAT clean and perfect as you see for example in raytracing pics.

lookin good so far...

the label is way to perfect..and white...scuff it up

id put a bit of a bump on the disk to..

and the metal should look more...umm...metallic.
looks like its made from the same material as the disk right now
