Title: Saber-Fate/stay night
Name: Wei Jiang
Country: China
Software: Maya, mental ray, Photoshop

This girl named "Saber",who is a character from "Fate/stay night"(a famous game&TV animaiton in Japan) .I like this lovely&doughty girl very much, and I am also interested in 3D cartoon style , so I decide to model it with 3D software.

It take me a long time to finish this project(more than one year) because of few available time.

I used Maya, Photoshop, rendered in mental ray.

Some other picture and animation test could be found on my websiet:

This is my first my post, all comments and critics are welcome:)

Nice girl~
Adding some reflection on the eyesball maybe better.

Of course I have tried to add some reflection(fake reflection, just a model with glow) ,but she looks too "loli" if I to do so,just a little girl, not a doughty knight:)

Very good modeling and lighting. Very nice character and plasant to look at. Anime art is cool but Anime art in 3D looks much better! Good job!

Say, it is a very nice job! I think she looks like a realistic figure just more a bit, other than a 2d manga character, but I do like it this way.
Looking forward to your further works.
Good luck

HOORAY for Saber! Good work, man. Just adding that a bit of reflection in her eyes would be great. :)

Awesome work!

Ive never seen Fate:Stay night before, but im well aware of the Saber character. You have the likeness exact - even the eyes!

Brilliant work - hope you do more stuff in a similar style. Doing non-celshaded anime stuff is tricky!

Hey - i just checked out your website. I remember your work! Ive seen that site before a year or so ago when looking through some asian CG links. Very impressive work. Especially the low poly stuff. Beautiful texturing

haha, brilliant! i'm a fan of the anime serie and i watched it, and you did a very very good work on this character.

In a first moment i though it was an anime figure hehehe. This would be the best saber figure ever if they ask you for your model. I wish i had a figure like this in my pc room hehehe.

5 stars from me!

You really surprised me with this! what a great work! congrats!

>AndyH (http://forums.cgsociety.org/member.php?u=54062)

actually making lowpoly model and painting texture are the contents of my job, making cartoon style character just my avocation:)

>tian-tian (http://forums.cgsociety.org/member.php?u=96557)

Glad to meet you my freind, haha,I also hope to see more your works here!

>WhiteBlaizer (http://forums.cgsociety.org/member.php?u=5225)

Perhaps I just want to make a anime figure for myself:),I think it will be not like a anime figure if I render it without GI and occulusion.
