Hi-

I now am the proud owner of a dual amd 2000+ system and winxp pro.

I am rendering in max, and while Brazil renders blazingly fast and in addition uses 2 buckets at a time, my scanline is SOOOO much slower. The same render is taking about 10 times longer i think.

Multithread is checked in max. Is there something that I am missing?

I would typically just use Brazil I guess, but my render is actually looking better with the scanline (i am using hdri, and I cant get that looking/working good in Brazil)

Any tips on how to ensure I am rendering as quick as possible?

Thanks in advance

Nope, just having Multithreaded checked ought to make the little magic render-elves work in pairs. Keep an eye on your Taskmanager to see if the 3dsmax.exe process takes up more than 50%. If it does, voilá, hot sexy multithreading action is taking place.

A lot of parts of the rendere are not multithreaded. video post, preparing objects and lights. Those are the main sinks.
