View Full Version : Blue assassin-my first work in PS
clone4 10-25-2007, 05:03 PM Hi all,
this is my first work on CG talk, and also my first work in PS ever :)
Now I'm trying to improve my shading skill, and all basic techniques. I used just one brush for the work and burn tool sometimes. Picture has relatively small resolution, because I wouldn't be able to draw equally in detail...
Now I'm kinda struggling with the sword and with sky, so I will appreciate any help.
Any critic will help...

Kudos for busting into something new though I think you have set yourself a difficult task. I would suggest that pretty much regardless of what you are working on you should start on a non-white background, even a light gray helps remove the slightly cartoonish feeling as you are working and bind the piece together. You chose somewhat of a difficult pose to begin with and with would encourage you to work out the anatomy and proportions before moving onto the clothing. Everyone has a different style but for me it is hard to get the clothing to hang correctly without a good feel of the body underneath. If you need help with perspective you might try out using corel painter, it has some really nice tools for getting perspective and composition down. Keep at it, never stop practicing!

first if all thanks for comment, to the backgound, i tried several colours of background but only white didn't disturb me while working and kept me focused on the painting ( maybe it will sound weird, but thats how it is :)) To be honest with the cloth, I never felt satisfied with theme, especially the upper body part, but unfortunately this is the best i can do for now. The pose isn't actually from my head, I saw it on one picture, maybe that's why it seems to be difficult, but actually the pose took me the least time...
Maybe I could have chosen less difficult drawing, but it wouldn't cost me less struggle to paint it :), and this way i can learn a lot...
btw sry for all Engl. mistakes :)
