View Full Version : Have a problem in persp window
Mananetwork 04-11-2003, 02:44 AM This is the ONLY scene this happends to me. I had 3 others saved and the problem doesn't seem to apear there. I've tried other projects and there ok. Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem?
Doesn't look like videocard problem or project. Must be the scene or something that i've added to the camra?

Hmm thats weird. By the looks of it, it seems like maybe your objects are HUGE. it looks like the place3dtexture boxes are so big that they are getting "sucked into the maya abyss" as my teacher calls it haha. Are you objects WAY bigger than the grid? thats the only thing I can think of by looking at the pic.

Yeah looks like a clipping issue.
In your pesp viewport goto View>>Camera Attribute Editor and change the Far Clip plane from 1000 to something like 5000 or maybe bigger if your object is huge.

Thanks for your help guys.
Yes pyromania, it was a clipping problem. I must of been playing around with the camra attributes to see what all of them do, and I left the far clip plane at 47

It is the name used for where the camera "clips" off what you are viewing. If you are too close to something or too far away, Z-depth (in relation to your viewport) parts will start to disappear.

ok..
This is totally new from the old one, SO TOTALLY IGNORE IT
I just didn't wanna make a new topic
But it's still a clipping problem
I'm trying get my airplane fly by in the right place.
The problem i'm getting is teh airplane has to be pretty small comparied to the building.
I left the clipping at 1
and the far clipping started to take my plane out at 100.
SO i changed it to 1000, nothing, then 100000 nothing. Still kept clipping in teh same spot.
So i decided to try below 100. The picture had disappear? at 97 my grid started to appear. At 99 my half my airplane appeared. BUt still no picture. Just as i set it back to 100 it showed my picture.
What is the problem here?
And i need to set my picture plane which is on (Background>Image) attacked to my camera far enough to see a small airplane in the background
If you need to ask more questions please ask away. I'll try to answer then.

Have you adjusted both the near and far clipping planes? Set the near one at .0001 and the far one at 1000. The problem should go away. If it doesn't let me know.

So you have a picture plane attached to your camera as a background? That was your problem. I didn't read that the first time around, sorry.
