Nice, but nothing that couldn't be done with C4D's renderer or any other renderer.

Very true..

whatever the renderer - that's impressive work.

true but i think the modeling skills and the clockwork accuracy is mutch more impressive then the render quality itself :scream:

it's really good modelling and rendering work, period.
(of course ;) )

lets see how acurate it is, i bet the noise structure would flicker without ultra high AA

Insane work--
hmm-- the bump quality is really outstanding & I doubt that Cinemas bumps would be even remotely as sharp-- thats Normalmap quality out of greyscale-bumps.

perhaps you use the wrong interpolation

try sat or soemthing else:P

c4d can do that too

why should it?
Are you implying that C4d has better AA than FR? or is better at rendering out bump mapping??

not better but i think its quite the same with some tweaking

As someone who has actually has built watch animations before (with and without Final Render), it's my opinion that the quality of these renders could not be achieved with Cinema's native renderer.

smells like a challenge to me. ;)

This is not a thread on FR vs Ar or Fr versus the rest...
This is an exemple of some very good work that happens to be rendered in FR, running inside C4d, and I believe, modelled in Moi (Janne can correct me if I am wrong).

Don't jump on it with "automatic C4d defense" turned on.

wow, never would I have imagined that my wording on this postheader would stir such a debate. It was never my intention that this would be a cinema/final render war, I was just impressed with the work that Janne did.

Next time I will be more careful with my wording ;)

as a friend of mine said

Skills never life and
finger paint is no apology for bad results :D

I'm sure C4D could output a result similar in the hand of a good artist. The difference might probably be the speed at which it is able to render, and the time needed to set that up to reach equal results.
GI animation would be tougher, though, or way longer if needed to resort to stochastics.

Anyway, great job by Janne, good attention to details. "un travail d'orfèvre" would be the french saying :)
