Am I alone on this that I think this T3 movie is going to really suck?

Arnold is crusty now.:thumbsdow

It'll be a rental.

The jury is still out for me. It has potential, butttttt......... The effects look nice. Its a tried and proven successful story line. The problem is I think that they needed something fresher then bringing Arnold back AGAIN. Excuse me hes gone and his jumping around from and to different points in time is getting alittle, ahh tired. But then maybe I just don't know enough of this storyline to really be talking yet. Did I mention the FX like nice!?!

Does anyone know how arnold manages to come back ? i thought he was throughly destroyed in the second movie?

My guess is that he is jumping back in time at a point sooner then in T2 and arriving at a point after he melted himself in T2. Does what I said make any sense? Technically speaking (provided time travel were possible and trust me you don't want to get me started on that one) it could be possible just, harsh on the brain when you just want to sit back and enjoy the fun.

When I think about the truckload of cash they invested in this roadkill that could be channelled to so much better projects....

lol ok, that makes alot of sense.

personally I'm looking forward to this movie a lot. Arnold is back, but he isnt the same terminator that was destroyed in T1 or T2.

why would there be but one terminator in the future? lol, but aside from that...the terminators from T1 and T2 were T-800 Model 101's. An updated model is sent back in T3 (T-850)

Im a very big fan of the story, the robot designs, and the effects. It seems like everybody who's making negative comments arent fans or are just casual fans.

About Cameron.....why does he HAVE to be involved in it for it to be good?

The thing that I dont seem to get is why everyone thinks that a movie absolutely has to have a great story to be entertaining or good even. Few movies have great, original stories nowadays. Many times I watch a sequel just to see how far they have gone with the effects and integrated them into a story that I know in advance will not be as good as the first. After all its all about entertainment. If I enjoy the effects and the gratuitious scenery then I come out a winner. Enjoyment is enjoyment, yet so many people say that they wont go see a movie just because they perceive the story to be crap.

Maybe thats just me :)

It's simple, Terminator is Cameron's baby, the trailers for T3 look weak, why? they lack that certain 'something' that Cameron can add.

T3 looks really dull to me.

But it still might do OK box office as it would seem a lot of people are easily pleased.

unfortunately... i dont think cameron has it in him to add anything to it.. have you been keeping up with camerons latest attempts to make something "fresh" ? umm. not looking good..

i think he couldnt make T3 any better than he already has.

cīmon guys! whats the matter with u? Arnorld is old all right, but, as far as i know there are pretty older cool actors still on active such Stallone, Sean Connery and Christopher Lee(great fighting by himself on Ep2 AOTC , he had a double but he could still fight a bit by himself on his 80īs)

Also thereīs this little beaty Exterminator the T-X, starring this model(which i dont remember the name).

Lets have faith on the film...itīs the MOST EXPENSIVE MOVIE EVER DONE SO LETS EXPECT SOMETHING OF IT! Also Arnol is the most well paid actor on hollywood(lol maybe thats why the movie is so expensive) Hope this is the ACTION MOVIE KING like Terminator2 Was. Can it face movies like Matrix Reloaded? Only time will tell...

cheers!

Well I'll see it but only for the VFX. As far as Arnold I don't mind, I mean I don't understand the aversion some people have toward older characters.

As far as being the most expensive movie, that doesn't mean anything either. Just take a look at Dinosaur or Pearl Harbor. Biggest budget only means high production values and high profile cast, in no way implies a good story.

The problem is how it's being done. I don't agree that without Cameron it wouldn't be good by default, some sequels have been good without their original directors like Superman 2 (though Donner directed the Fortress of Solitude scenes with Lex) and Jaws 2. The problem is the direction, which seems to destroy the mythos established in the first 2 films. It looks like what happened with Batman when Schummacher took the reins for the last 2 films. It looks designed by comitee, in this case Kassar and Vajna. Kinda like what Berman did on ST Nemesis, yeah lets add more action it'll be the best since Wrath of Khan, and then he i perplexed why it was the worst performing Trek movie ever. T3 feels the same way, lets hire a hip young cast (why Furlong wasn't cast, just wonder), more action, lets disregard what happened in the first 2 films, recycle with improvements (never mind that the T-1000 was the most advanced prototype, it turns out there is one even worse with ridiculous capabilities), and the list goes one. It's almost like a parallel universe version of the saga.

I'm sure it'll make a ton of money but that won't make it any good just as it didn't with Pearl Harbor. Or maybe it'll flunk in the coming weeks like The Patriot did against The Perfect Storm. The more I hear about the story the less confidence I have.

Well the way the terminators live from T2 is that skynet backup all of their files (why wouldnt they?).....The other thing is that the terminator that was sent back to protect lost his arm in a machine gear thingy..yeah he threw in the arm from the first terminator but his arm was still left in the gear thingy...I was reading one of the books on the terminator that takes place betweet part 2 and 3.....but it explained why the terminators came back..and why they all look the same..In the book they even explain the reason the machines look like arnie ....

malducin

This is actually a very old explanation. Back when T2 was being made, they asked Cameron how Arnie appears again. He said something like, well they are basicly toasters and who says you only produce one toaster. In fact the first teaser trailer for T2 featured an assembly line of T800, all looking the same to sort of explain this months before the movie premiered. The teaser was done by Stan Winston.

The main problem is not that there are countless terminators looking for Arnie but how they get back again. The previous 2 films hinted that after the 3 terminator and Reese were sent back, Connor and the human survivors would destroy the time machine (they had already defeated Skynet). Why didn't the T800 warn young Connor back then that the T-X would also be sent back later on. The T1000 was supposed to be the most advanced and now the TX has the corny ability of not only being covered in liquid metal, but also be able to reconfigure itself into complex machinery!?!?! Sorry, doesn't jive for me. It almost sounds like the rejected Terminator scripts which had Arnie battling a bigger Terminator and the like, they thought back then it was stupid to continue going with a bigger badder more gadgety Terminator then. The T1000 had some logic to it.

Who knows as opposed to other movies maybe the trailers are showing the worst parts of the movie only ;-).

no youre not alone. ill hardly pay for this kind of a nasty rape on a classic piece of movie. the first one ruled big time with the moods and atmospheric feelings... but as time went by they discovered that the trademark had a lot more cash to it.

i guess this will be another DL ;)

Yeah, yeah, itīs just a cheap post to see how my new sig looks like, sue me :) .

Letīs get down to business:
Look at it this way: Terminator/Schwarzeneger is a toaster, i.e. heīs one of the hundreds(thousands?) that were built in an assembly line, right?
Wrong!

Yaīsee, according to 1984īs flick, "a terminator is an infiltration unit.".

His human appearance is specifically designed to infiltrate human shelters and jkill everyone in there.
So, if they all look the same, doesnīt it sound just...well, dumb?
I mean, in a reallistic world thereīd be "wanted dead or alive" posters with a Schwarzeneger pic on it all over town, heīd be spotted 2.5 light-years away before he could infiltrate anything!!

You sure do raise a good argument. hmmm

In any case, i love the terminator films and like 1 and 2, i'll be first in line to see this movie in the theaters. I enjoy every aspect of it (story, effects, etc). I really dont care about it being camerons baby or who could have done it better or what.

Though, I really really would have liked to see T3 done entirely in the future war instead of focusing on time travel (in the main story) for the 3rd time

something i quite dont understand is why u guys keep thinking of how did arnold got back...its simple...he was MADE in the future so there was no way he could have died in the lava...a bit like T1(sarahīs oīconnorīs boyfriend came from the future). So this is obvious...it seems the events on T2 only delayed the "rise of the machines" a few years(and maybe not...i still think John has the same age he should have when the all war should have began). So thereīs nothing strange about it...the terminators rise and arnold or by some way came back from the future once again, or was already there being built while his Alter ego was being destroyed in the lava pool

Simple isnt it?

or maybe iīm all wrong!! lolol

Well Requiem for a Dream trailer sucked monkey arse, but the movie was really good.

Sadly the fact that it will be about time travel and mass destruction does not convince me.

What i would have liked for the third sequel:

Around the year 2024 (or somethin) a renwed Skynet project begins and stuff, then John connor would try to stop it, a new t-model future john conor altered (based on scharwzenneger design becoz of nostalgia he had for the terminator qho travelled the first time) appears and helps, but the main enemy this time should not be a new tmodel but something cooler, like the whole skynet system (which should be installed in the whole country or something) which its source should be secretive or so.

I would like the same kind of action sequences than in t2: not exagerated, not boring, with soundtrack somewaht creepy, ala t2 =P...

....

or sutff...
