Hi

Im currently working on a project modelling and rendering my girlfriend. when I render the model on the own it will take about 10 minutes to render on draft setting with 1/16 anti aliasing but when i add the hair im having very large render times. when rendering on the hair strands it will take several minutes to do one bucket. I have the hair passes set to 3, If I lower the hair passes its slightly quicker but still takes a while and is also unrealistic. Is this right for it to take this long as I think it will take several hours to render one 800 x 600 image

maybe someone can let me know a good setting for rendering hair.

I read the first line a couple of times and make sure I read it right, then I had to restrain myself from posting verious funny remarks about hair types and shaving :) and then I remembered this blog entry from M. Zap:

It might be in the shadows somewhere..

yeah there could be to many jokes about that. thanks for the link I will see if it helps but now looking at some of the other work on here it seem rendering a model with hair and fur is no quick process. Im just used to vray where it will only take several minutes.

its a shame vray isn't as good when it comes to rendering skin, hair etc
