hello all,
im relatively new to maya, although i have been doing tutorials like crazy. I am baffled by one thing. I have a poly surface that i imported from another program that i am trying to skin.
I has three diff uv in it, but for some reason i can't select a particular uv. all my textures default to the whole object, or to ...whatever...not where i want them to go.
i go into the uv texture editor, i see the three uvs there...but i cant seem to do anything with them.
the one time i made this work, i saw that in the outliner three diff sets of uvs were listed
and the vertices were children of the ..parent. i selected the appropriate vertices ..and voila...
task complete.
however, in this particular model, the outliner shows one object that i can use to select the uv image in the uv editor, only it seems to select all three uvs.
what do i need to do to be able to use the uv sets the way i want?
