Title: Just a loft...
Name: Carlos Bergfeld
Country: Brazil
Software: Maya, mental ray, Photoshop
Hi everybody!
This a personal work, basically for some rendering studies.
All objects were completely modeled from zero. Everything is 3D except for the plant inside, which was the only post done in photoshop. Other than that, the image came out of mental ray for maya as it is.
GI, FG and the Physical Sun & Sky system were used. All materials are mia_materials. About the textures, some are procedural and some were made in photoshop.
Rendering time was about 1h30min. There are lots of blurred reflections with some high samplings. I confess I didn't worry very much about optimizing some settings, but I think the rendering time was good enough for my machine: AthlonX2 3800, 2GB RAM.
I'm no architect, but the project came out of my head. So you'll probably find lots of flaws regarding the project itself. However, I'm more concerned about the rendering quality.
Anyway... Criticize as you wish! ;)
Thanks in advance,
Kako.
