Well, I'm looking around for an answer to my MAX5 mapping question. This didn't happen in good 'ol 4.2... I'm not having much luck...

Here's the issue:

I'm currently UVmapping a new torso for a game. I use the method: select faces, map, unwrap, edit mesh, select faces, map, unwrap, edit mesh, etc... until the whole mesh is mapped and unwrapped.

The problem is when I'm done unwrapping, I can no longer select any vertices that were associated with the parts I unwrapped earlier... make sense? The only vertices that I can select are the ones in the last set of faces unwrapped, all the other no longer appear. Has anyone run into this issue and know of a remedy?

muchas gracias,
-hg

*edit
btw - I did do a search on "missing vertices" but nothing came up, I'm not even sure about those keywords...

Thanks fo any help

It's because Unwrap is "locked" to the verts/faces that you selected in the Edit Mesh directly beneath it. That's the best I can explain it.

Collapse the stack and everything should be fine.

Thanks for the reply, but..

I did collapse the stack.

Here are some other things I've tried as well:
- removed the UVW mapping
- convert to editable poly back to editable mesh (no verts in edit poly mode either)
- reset xform...
- closed and restarted MAX...

I dunno what to do now... please help

OK,

now I feel really stupid... Somehow the verts were hidden. "Unhide All" solved my problem.

*sigh* cant see the forest for the trees...

thanks everyone
