View Full Version : Who's the daddy vray for c4d or maxwell for c4d
Out of these two render engines which one is the best, in your opinion?
I have know of maxwell for a long time now, but kept waiting until the problems threads in the forum reduced dramatically, I have also heard of a new plugin update to sort it all out.
vray for c4d looks good in the there forum not many problems, so sound good too.
Has any one done a review comparing to two?

if you're looking for good render engine, you should know for 'what' you need it;
for arch viz, animation,...

From what i've seen, I would say that Maxwell's renders (within the most knowledgeable hands) seem to bring out the "HOLY SCHOLY" in me more than Vray. Thus far, I give Vray a "WOW" rating. On the other hand, Vray seems to me to be the overall dream renderer to have based on integration, stability, quality of renders, time, ease of use, support, etc. I especially love the fact that the people who created Vray are all C4D users and have a personal interest in its success!
This is all based on carefully watching/reading other's posts, galleries, video tutorials, etc. BUT, I am eager to read/see what the upcoming plugin for Cinema 4D for MaxwellRender will bring to the table. :)

will be mainly using it for product and interior room shots.

Better for what? Better for whom?
There isn't a better render engine per say. This is a senseless question.
You have FinalRender, Vray, Maxwell and Fry as 3rd party render engines for C4d.
Each has some strong points and I am sure some weaknesses. I doubt you would get an objective reply from someone regarding which is "better".
And I doubt anyone has really used all of them in a production environment to really be able to compare.

Even after submitting my thoughts above, I think MOKA is probably right on. Each renderer has its advantages/disadvantages, but the user's knowledge is really what makes the difference i would think.:)
