Hi All,

I use a wacom to animate in messiah. One issue I come across again adna again is that I can't select slider channels (greater than the first 9) without clicking on the triangle. This, nearly always puts down a keyframe as the pen moves slightly on mouse down. It's be really useful IMO to be able ot click on the text label to the left of each slider simply to select that channel and therefore have it come up in the graph editor, without the danger of adding keyframes. Simple thing really but it would make my life easier! Anyone else....or anyone have a solution?

Sure you can. Didin't you say you used armatures to select stuff with a mouse over?
Same principle can be applied here. Make 12 handles that go across the top of the screen with the Compute Expression mouse-over action on them. Input ChannelSelect(0), ChannelSelect(1), ChannelSelect(2) and so forth as their expressions and save your armature so it always loads since it works with every object. Blammo, all selection, no keys.

Emm, I was thinking 'create a solution' first and then forgot to look if there was one there.
When you have the slider selected, you can just click the little buttons with the channel number in the 'values' tab, or expand the slider channel list in the itemlist and click the channels there, or you can swap which channel you want to edit in the bottom right corner of the worldview (colour coded number). Neither of those ways of selecting creates a key.

The problem is that ChannelSelect(9), ChannelSelect(10), ChannelSelect(11) will always select Channel 0. This is a known issue and Fori had it already fixed in the next version. Since no-one knows when the next version is released, a workaround for the moment is to use the 'ChannelAddSelect()' command, which adds a channel to the selection and which works fine for channels > 9.

Hey thanks guys. I still think from a speed point of view (and I need speed because I'm probably doing things inefficiently in other areas :scream: ) that it would be nice to be able to do it right there, on the slider. It would just make editing and checking them that much faster. Still, it is a small point.

Has anyone else noticed that if you assign perspective view to a keypress then it forgets where you had the perspective view when you switch back and forth from say camera view? If you use the armatures at the top of the screen it doesn't.

I'm back using messiah animate again and loving it! It's one cool app! I hope Version 3 goes well for them and that they make a big deal of it!
