Hi Folks,

I'm working on a animation and one sequence is a flight down the optic nerve.

Everythings going welll but I need some advice on how to do the veins.

Should I paint them, use bump or Displacement maps. Or should I model them with tubes.

What do y'all think?

Any suggestions appreciated.

I've attached a pic of what I'm aiming for.

Cheers.

Nick.

well, depends on how much are going to be exposed to the screen. if the camera goes very fast you could just do regular color and bump map, but if it is some kind of flight through the displace would give you pretty and subtile results.they will reflect better than just bump, and making the veins with tubes wouldnt be so smooth.

Thanks Jeb,

I've decided to extrude the larger veins and use displacement and bump maps for the smaller veins and blood vessels.

Cheers.

Nick.
