Hey all!

This is a vfx shot that was created with intention to learn and develop artistic skills and with help of those be able to bring an image to life and awake emotions. Here's a still from the 8 second shot.

The project is a collaboration, compositing and cg elements is created by Arvid Björn (myself) and all concept art and mattepaintings are created by Marko Ljubez.

Feel free to visit this site (http://renderq.net/contrast/) for concept arts and composite breakdowns of this project. (backup mirrorsite) (http://home.bip.net/arvid.b/contrast)

good stuff, and the shot breakdown sure was nice as well...

couple of things: how about adding some lights to some windows of the skyscrapers ? its all a bit dead in there. then maybe a tiny blur on those neon signs. and the lighting of the probe whirring by seems a bit off. they are rather brightly lit, though the rest of the scenery is very dark.

the compositing job is excellent. Thanks for the breakdown or I would have never figured out what was exactly had bee compositied and what was a CG element.

The boats are the only thing that stuck out as "CG". Of cource I knew that the flying things were CG but they fit in with the rest of the scene nicely.

Thanks folks!!

We realized that we rushed this clip out the door, even tho there's no deadline to meet and no customers to satisfy, we expect even more from ourselves for the next shot we're planning :D And we're really appreciating your comments, all duely noted! Keep em coming :)
