View Full Version : Question about Bhodinut Falloff
Anadin 04-09-2003, 11:24 PM I was playing with the falloff shader as I was suprised to find that I needed a plugin to do a reflection that falls off (thanks mdme_sadie).
But if you look at these pics - is this correct?

I'm sorry I don't get the questions, is what right? the render is is fine what are you expecting? What are you trying to achieve?
i believe what hes trying to explain is the difference between the gradient in the editor and in the render....
basically the in editor view is a basic genralization of the procedural your appying...so its more of a refernce than an actual representation of what will show up in the render

that's correct for the falloff shader, but the plugin i was tlaking about was "distance falloff" which is a different thing. but falloff essentially works by taking the angle of the surface to a defined vector (as standard the vector is straight Y) this is good for thigns like dust, snow etc, as they cling to one side of an object only. have a look at the snow preset on my website to see how falloff is used to get snow on a rocky surface.
