I have no experience with either, but I believe there's an import plugin for Matchmover. I sought [Edit: saw!] it somewhere on Maxon's site a while back.

Icarus is also good - you have to go via lightwave but it still works well.

Anybody has tried Boujou ?
They talk about a c4d plugin in order to import camera tracks. Where can I find it ?
thanx

there are quite of few for such a speciallized field: Icarus, Mokey, Matchmover, Boujou and there are probably others however they are so speciallized that they are going to be expensive. Matchmover and Boujou are coming out with OS X Products and Icarus is currently OS X - probably the cheapest of the bunch is Matchmover which the current version is $1500 definately download any demos and try them out.

icarus is free...
not anymore - and that was free for non-commercial use - this from their website:
All of us here at AIG would like to thank the ICARUS users for their support.
As of March 11th 2003, ICARUS is no longer available for download.
As we are sure you will understand, we want to continue to develop new and exciting products and maintain the quality of the software we produce. In order to do this, we will now be working exclusively with The Pixel Farm to market and develop ICARUS technology for the post production industry.
The first product will be PFTrack, camera tracking software that has grown out of ICARUS and contains some significant new features and functionality. For further information, please visit The Pixel Farm web site.
Existing ICARUS customers will be entitled to an upgrade to the new software when it becomes available.
Once again, many thanks for your support.
that website is at: http://aig.cs.man.ac.uk/icarus/
this from the pixelfarm website:
PFTrack will be available for Linux, Mac OSX, IRIX and Windows in April 2003 costing £3000.00 per license.

Oh well, just have to bumb up our prices a little bit huh? :)
I recentley had the chance of workin with matchmover, and i must say that it worked like a charm. It was fast, easy to use and the results were awesome! I did some simple tracking for a schoolproject and it came out great. Shame its so expensive, since id love to have a copy of that at home :)
