looking good so far, i like the watch. might wanna check out mannymotions hmc9 thread, he had a bandaged char in that that looked sweet.

Thanks NoirQ. I looked at that thread, he has modeled the bandage the hard way .. i think i am going to try sculpting it first, if that does not come out right i might do it that way too. thanks for the tip!

I updated the pics above with a tiny update (sunglasses/belt added, some tweeking on the watch)

UVmapped the coat so i should be ready to start sculpting on that soon.

I hope i can come up with some larger updates when i have more time!

Without having modeled the shoes yet i thought id start with the sculpting a bit, since i only have zbrush for a very short period of time. i am still learning it.

I feel like i am not daring enough with sculpting. any advice on how to make the creases look a bit better? i should stare at references more..

Wow you already have a very good look for your project. I really liked the concept. Great choice!!

any advice on how to make the creases look a bit better? i should stare at references more..

I agree, and also you should use lazy mouse (shortcut L) in Zbrush. Remember topology must be nice otherwise it won't smooth properly, and also work from 1st subvidision up. Don't start adding detail in sub5 if you haven't done anything on 4, 3, 2, 1, before. It will work much better if your experience with Zbrush is limited. That's only my workflow anyways, and my opinion....:)

You can check any of the gnomon zbrush modeling tuts by Zack Petrock. He uses the same technique.

Best of luck!

Albert Feliu.

Thanks for the comment DDS, that lazy mouse function was very helpful! thanks!

I was gone for the weekend but had some time to work on it today. I think its starting to look o.k. It is hard to make the creases look natural.

I will have more time this week to work on it.

final update on the watch too: (not a realistic but more a retro-render)

The watch is looking amazing, very cool! The coat could definitaly use alot more wrinkles. But your doing very good so far!

Thanks lordrych,

I mainly did the arms in this update, the rest of the coat will be in that level of detail.

I am having some difficulties getting my model back into 3ds max from zbrush, i tried creating a displacement map and exporting the model on a lower subdivision. The details wont show in 3dsmax, and the whole coat seems to be inflated. I guess im doing something wrong. some advice on this would be appreciated!

Alright I am starting to get the hang of zbrush a bit. heres the latest version on the coat. I think i am going to start sculpting a different part of his clothing now.

Still havent figured out how to get the models from zbrush to 3ds max correctly so ill keep them as zbrush files for now.
