Discreet is once again teasing us with the long rumored particle upgrade. With the technology demonstration of these new tools at NAB I would have thought we would have heard something more by now. Has anyone seen this in action?

The name Particle Flow brings to mind a flowchart approach similar to Digital Fusion or Schematic View which would add an incredible level of control to particle creation. However this is only wild speculation and high hopes on my part, I'd rather have some cold hard facts if anyone's got them.

Well you can speculate all you want. At SIGGRAPH 2000, MAX 4 was shown as a technology demo because it was a work in progress. You could probably draw similar conclusions with Particle Flow technology. Also, the fact that you haven't heard anything concrete from people involved is a strict NDA issue. However, stay tuned.

We should be happy Discreet didn't pick some fiery name again (flame, inferno... "Hell" is still free?) . So at least there is room for speculations as it looks like "Nomen Est Omen" this time. ;)
Patience... then let them flow...
