Choose in your desired viewport:

Edit, Configure. And then choose In the Attributes manager "Back"

Hope this helps.

I do a lot of illos for magazines (covers/DPS etc), and I came up a way of making a layout easily adjustable for me. Create a plane object, from the Functions menu, select 'Transfer', and transfer the plane to the camera position, and make a child of the camera. Make sure the plane is rotated to face the camera (+Z), and then move it along the Z axis so it's visible in the camera view. Now you can change the dimensions/ratio of the plane to match your final render output, and adjust the size, so its close to camera, and fils the view.

Now, assuming the layout is text based or whatever, you can probably create a transparent png in Photoshop with all unnessary BG colour removed, then in Cinema you can drop as a material on to your plane, and have visible whilst adjusting your scene relative to the layout.

Hope that makes sense, and might help!

thanks I ended up downloding the script http://www.haraldkoell.com/ which I uses the plane connected to camera method. It also has an expresso script attached. I will look into it later when i have more time. I now have a dealine to meet.

Duh...silly me didn't look for the background object.

Thanks for all the help.
