View Full Version : Fishes
jeroentje 10-13-2007, 05:22 PM Hi there,
I'm doing a line illustration, just for fun. And I thought it would be nice to post something on cgtalk again. Oh my, it has been ages...
Here's my first sketch:

I'm doing the line art in Illustrator, this is what I have for now:

I'll do a little tweeking on the line art and then I'm off to Photoshop for some colour.
Cheers, Jeroen

Hm... I did a couple of mood tests. It's all kinda boring... I'm starting again from scratch. I want a little more action than a couple of cars in a traffic jam.

Heh, what a fun idea, this could be a fun short if turned animation. Good to see you have returned.
Would be fun if these fishes where playing chicken (you know the whole rebel without a cause driving towards the cliff car scene) and then bailing out at the last moment.

Thank you :)
I'm continuing this as an entry in the "strange behaviour" challenge overhere (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?threadid=550206). Sorry for the double thread...

hi there, cool ideas.
as an illustration, I think the three images above could work, but not with the filters and shortcut-backgrounds. it looks cheap :( invest more time into it, I´m sure you could develope a neat style that flows with the characters....
cheers, and good luck

I like the Autmn idea. Since I associate Fall with dead leaves, and dead leaves are dry, it makes a nice contrast to the fish who are generally considered to be moist creatures. Also I like the colors quite a bit for the season :).
